Your initial evaluation is a one-on-one session with your physical therapist and typically lasts 60–90 minutes. We’ll begin by discussing your medical history, current concerns, and goals so we can understand what you want to improve. From there, we’ll assess your movement, mobility, strength, and overall function through a series of functional movement screens. This allows us to identify the areas that may be contributing to your symptoms and determine the best approach for treatment.
The number of sessions you’ll need varies depending on your goals and individual needs. For those looking to address pain, you can typically expect to see improvement within 1–2 sessions, with many conditions resolving within 6–8 sessions. For those focused on improving strength, performance, and power, we typically recommend 8–10 sessions. We’ll typically start with one session per week to build momentum and make consistent progress. As you improve and become more independent with your program, we’ll gradually reduce the frequency to one session every 2–3 weeks to help you maintain your progress and continue working toward your goals.
